Until registration is server-side, your name and WhatsApp number or email are kept only on your device (browser storage, key aki.prefs), together with your language, currency, delivery zone, bag, interests, the products you viewed and searched, your votes and the orders you sent to checkout from this device.
Favourites you save with the heart are kept only in this browser (key aki.favs): the product reference and the option you chose, nothing else. They are not linked to an account and not sent to us or to anyone else. Forget me on this device clears them.
We remember what you look at on this device to suggest products. Nothing is shared with third parties.
When you check out, your bag, name, WhatsApp number, delivery details and (optional) company name go to Shopify, which runs our secure checkout. Votes, suggestions and enquiries reach us only when our form service is switched on — see “Forms and votes” below.
The forms for becoming a partner, hosts and villa managers, enquiring about an experience, contacting us and suggesting a product or rental ask for: your name, company or property name, email and/or phone, where you are based, the details you type, and a tick that we may contact you. Votes for the next drop contain only the product you voted for. We ask for this only to answer you, to follow up on your request and to decide what to bring to the island.
While our form service is not switched on (the page tells you “Not sent”), nothing leaves the page: you are shown our email address and your written message to copy into your own email app, and your own email provider then holds the message you send. Answers typed into the older pop-up forms are kept as a draft on your device (browser storage, key aki.drafts) so you can come back; the newer full-page forms keep nothing on your device. Votes are kept on your device (key aki.prefs).
When our form service is switched on (the page tells you “we’ve received it”), pressing the button sends your answers to aki.cw over an encrypted connection. They are stored in a database run for us by our hosting provider, Cloudflare, together with the time, the page language and the site version. A copy of what you sent (not your IP address) is placed in a private Google Sheet that only aki.cw can open, and we get an e-mail notice for every enquiry, contact message and product suggestion (votes usually too, but not guaranteed), so we can answer quickly; Google processes it for us. Your internet (IP) address is not stored: we keep only a one-way scrambled code made from it, used for a short time to stop abuse such as automated mass submissions. We keep a message as long as we need it to answer and follow up on your request; ask us through Contact us and we delete it.
If you add “Something else” to your interests, those words (up to 3, 60 characters each) are kept on your device and are only sent to us if the form service is switched on and you have registered or ticked the box. Personal data is never put in a web address. To have what we hold about you deleted, ask us through Contact us; on your device, use More → Your data → Forget me.
No third-party cookies, no ad pixels, no data brokers. If we switch on Google Analytics, it loads only after you accept the cookie notice. Cloudflare Web Analytics, if on, is cookieless.
In the app, go to More → Your data → Forget me on this device to clear everything aki.cw stored on this device. Reset my suggestions clears only what you looked at and searched; your bag stays.
